What is Clearstep? Clearstep is an 'invisible orthodontics' system using a series of clear positioners. It is an alternative to traditional train track type braces. It is a UK invented design very similar to Invisalign, a global brand, but Clearstep can usually treat more difficult cases because of the development of unique addition features and appliances. Who can get Clearstep? It is possible to treat most orthodontic cases with Clearstep, although it may take longer than conventional orthodontic treatment. Treatment times may be shortened, and cost reduced by utilising CODA appliances and other systems unique to Clearstep. Your dentist will be able to discuss these options with you. How Much does it cost? The initial treamtment plan costs £200. This includes: Very accurate impressions for study models. A bite registration to show the orthodontists your exact biting points. Ten high quality photographs. A special full mouth X-ray known as an OPT. These items are then sent to Clearstep for diagnositics and treatment planning. In around 20 days we will receive a full report and treatment plan including various options for the patient. The treatment will be classed as mild, moderate or severe. On receipt of this report we can give an accurate cost of treatment, and the length of time it will take. There may be other items required for treatment. These items will be fully explained to you prior to commencement of treatment, and an estimate of likely costs given. On agreeing a treatment plan, Clearstep will produce the first set of positioners from the original casts in around 20 days. Each positioner is worn for a minimum of 20 hours per day until it feels loose, which normally takes 10-14 days. Each box contains 8 positioners. Further impressions are required after each box of positioners is completed to allow acurate construction of the next box. Retention will usually be required and is available as removable or fixed. New patients to Woodside Crescent Dental Practice will be required to register with us and have a full examination for assessment of dental fitness, or be referred by their current dentist. Existing patients may book an appointment for diagnostics at any time. Quotations & treatment plans are valid for 6 months. Further details are available at www.clearstep.co.uk |
